The free Open Graph and Twitter Card Tags plugin started being developed 12 years ago, as a personal need and didn’t intend to have a profitable future. It was a way to give back to the wonderful WordPress community and later to help make our company name known in that same community. That objective was well accomplished.
The plugin got to 80.000+ active installs, and we weren’t able to keep up with the needed maintenance, as other priorities arose.
We launched a PRO add-on with the expectation that we would have at least some financial return to help us keep the free plugin maintained as well as develop new features on the paid version. That didn’t go well, and it was our fault: sadly, we just don’t have the time to dedicate to this project anymore.
WPExperts were kind enough to accept taking over the free plugin, as well as the code base for the (not very complete, let’s be honest) PRO add-on, and will decide its future, which we are certain it’s going to be awesome.
If you still had an active subscription to the PRO add-on, we canceled it and decided to refund your last payment, which you should be getting in the next hours.
